I am an Australian freelance science journalist and the author of Green is Good – Smart Ways to Live Well and Help the Planet, a popular green lifestyle book published by HarperCollins.

P1050880My work has been published online and in print in publications such as Australian Geographic, Sydney Morning Herald, Australian Women’s Health and Adelaide Advertiser.  Clients include Nature Group, Australian National University, CSIRO, Refraction Media and Science in Public.

Between 2007 and 2012 I was a regular contributor to Green Lifestyle Magazine. I was the Eco Advisor to Women’s Health Magazine (2009 – 2012) and the Sustainability Ambassador for HarperCollins (2006-2008).

Before becoming a freelancer full-time I gained over a decade of experience working as a science communicator for CSIRO, ANU and the Green Building Council of Australia, focusing on environment and sustainability. Prior to that I worked for a ten years as an environmental manager for government and not for profits. I also worked for several years in wildlife research, monitoring legless lizards and earless dragons in Canberra and the endangered Rarotongan Flycatcher in the Cook Islands.

I have a Masters of Environmental Science from the University of New South Wales and undergraduate degrees in Science and Arts from the Australian National University.
